STRIP LOINS IN WINE SAUCE

Another easy sauce idea for beef strip loins.

INGREDIENTS
4   4   Strip Loin Grilling Steaks, cut 1
1 tbsp   15 mL   melted butter
1 tbsp   15 mL   dry red wine
2 tbsp   30 mL   chopped green onions
2 cups   500 mL   sliced mushrooms
1/2 cup   125 mL   dry red wine
1 cup   250 mL   beef stock
    pinch of dried thyme

COOKING TIME: 20 minutes

DIRECTIONS
Brush steaks with mixture of 1 tbsp (15 mL) each melted butter and dry red wine. Season with pepper. Broil using medium high heat for 5-7 minutes per side for rare or 7-9 minutes per side for medium, turning once with tongs. While steaks broil, sauté green onions and mushrooms in oiled non-stick pan until softened. Add dry red wine, beef stock and thyme. Simmer briskly until slightly thickened. Serve spooned over steaks.
