ORIGINAL SWISS STEAK

The incredibly rich beefy flavour of blade steak combined with the great taste of A1 creates this succulent and tender beef dish.

INGREDIENTS
1 1/2 lbs   750 g   BLADE or CROSS RIB SIMMERING STEAK
1   1   bottle (172 mL) A1 Original Steak Sauce
1/2 cup   125 mL   EACH: red wine (optional) and tomato juice
1   1   medium Spanish onion, cut into strips
1   1   EACH: small red and green pepper, cut into strips
1 lb   500 g   whole baby new potatoes or regular red potatoes, cut into 2 inch (5 cm) chunks

PREPARATION TIME: 15 minutes
COOKING TIME: 60 -90 minutes

DIRECTIONS
Season steak with salt and freshly ground pepper to taste. Heat a large lightly-oiled pot over medium-high heat. Brown steak on all sides. Add remaining ingredients, stir well and bring to the boil. Cover and simmer for 60 to 90 minutes, or until beef is tender. Serve with extra A1 sauce.
