[Home]  PEPPER STEAK FRAMBOIS
Dazzle family or friends with this easy "dressed up" pepper steak; they won't believe the secret ingredient is raspberry jam. A unique compliment to the peppery beef.

Prep Time: 1 minute Cook Time: 10 min.

1 lb 500 g SIRLOIN STEAK, cut ¾" (1.5 cm) thick
1 - 1½ tsp 5 - 7 mL coarsely ground black pepper
1/3 cup 75 mL ketchup or chili sauce
1/3 cup 75 mL raspberry jam
2 tsp 10 mL prepared mustard

Sprinkle pepper over both sides of steak; pressing into meat. Heat a large oiled skillet over medium-high heat; brown steak, about 3-4 minutes each side. Reduce heat and remove steaks to a cutting board. Stir in ketchup, jam, mustard and 2 tbsp (30 mL) water; heat until well blended. Slice steak across the grain and drizzle with sauce to serve. Serve with parslied potatoes and baby carrots.

TIP:  Substitute 4 Sirloin Tip or Eye of Round Pepper Steaks for Sirloin Steak and pepper in above recipe.
