[Home]  HAWAIIAN GRILLED STEAK
This easy marinade tastes great with all cuts of beef for less tender cuts simply extend the marinading time or add a package of instant marinade to the recipe.

Prep Time: 5 min.
Cook Time: 8 min.
Marinating Time: 15 min.
 
1½ lbs 500 - 750 g Sirloin Steak, ½-¾" (1-2 cm) thick
½ cup 125 mL soy sauce
¼ cup 50 mL EACH pineapple juice, cider vinegar and brown sugar
1 tsp 5 mL minced garlic
1 tsp 5 mL fresh gingerroot or ½ tsp (2 mL) ground ginger

Cut steak into serving pieces. Combine remaining ingredients and place in shallow dish. Pierce steak pieces on both sides numerous times with a fork. Place in marinade and turn a couple of times to completely coat; let stand for up to 15 minutes. Broil or grill for 6-8 minutes, turning once and brushing frequently with marinade. Discard remaining marinade or thicken with cornstarch and boil for 10 minutes to serve as a sauce.

Makes 4-6 servings.

TIP:  For use with cuts such as Round, Sirloin Tip, Flank, Blade or Cross Rib marinade for 12-24 hours in the refrigerator OR add an instant marinade pouch to the marinade recipe above and let stand for 30 minutes.
