Rules and Regulations:

HEARTSMART™ RECIPE BOOK SWEEPSTAKES HOW TO PLAY: No Purchase Necessary. Starting at 12:01 am (ET) on August 14, 2006  (entries prior to August 14, 2025 will be accepted) visit www.beefinfo.org/leanbeef and select the Cookbook Contest tab on the menu bar. Complete the Official Entry Form with your name, complete address, daytime telephone number, age and email address along with answering all the questions, select the submit icon and you will be automatically entered. All entries must be received on or before 11:59 PM (ET) on November 30, 2025 (the “Contest Closing Date”). Only one (1) email address may be used by any person to participate in the contest. Only one (1) entry (mail or electronic) per person will be accepted.

ELIGIBILITY: This contest is open to all residents of Canada who have reached the age of majority  on the date of entry according to the law of the province or territory in which they reside, with the exception of employees of the Sponsor (The Beef Information Centre), Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada their advertising and promotional agencies, and members of their families living in the same household.

Total retail value of all prizes is $873.75. Odds of winning sweepstakes depend upon number of entries received. Any taxes are responsibility of winner. No transfers or substitution of prizes by winner permitted.

DRAWING: Random draws will be held on December 7, 2006 at 10:00 am (ET) in Mississauga, ON, from among all eligible entries received on or before the Contest Closing Date. Odds of being selected depend on the total number of eligible entries received on or before the Contest Closing Date. Selected entrants will be contacted by mail or telephone within ten (10) days of the draw date. If a selected entrant cannot be contacted by mail or telephone within ten (10) days of the draw date his/her entry will be disqualified and another entrant will be randomly selected until such time as contact is made by mail or telephone with a selected entrant. Limit of one (1) prize per person or household.

CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION: By participating, you agree to these rules and the decisions of the judges, which shall be final and legally binding in all matters relating to this sweepstakes. By entering this contest entrants also accept and agree to be bound by these rules. Participants agree to release and hold harmless The Sponsor, and its parents, affiliates, and their advertising and promotional, publicity and production agencies and their respective directors, officers, employees and agents from any claim, loss, expense or other liability, including liability for personal injury and property damage, arising from participation in the contest or awarding, acceptance, use or misuse of any prize.The Sponsor (which includes its affiliates and each of their agents, officers, employees, licensees and all parties associated with this sweepstakes The Sponsor shall not be held responsible for any problems, errors or negligence that may arise or occur in connection with the contest including but not limited, to any damage to an entrant’s computer equipment, system, software or any combination thereof, as a result of the entrant’s participation in this contest.Void where prohibited. In order to win, the selected entrant(s) must first correctly answer a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question to be administered by mail or telephone.

Subject to obtaining the consent of the Régie des alcohols des courses et des jeux with respect to the province of Quebec, The Sponsor reserves the right, to terminate or to amend this contest at any time and in any way, without prior notice. Without limiting the foregoing, if, for any reason, the contest is not capable of running as originally planned, such as tampering or infection by computer virus, the Sponsor, reserves the right to cancel the online portion of the contest and conduct the draw from all other previously received online eligible entries. This contest is subject to all applicable Federal, Provincial and Municipal laws.

Quebec Residents: Any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity contest may be submitted to the Regie des alcohols, des courses et des jeux for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Regie only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.
